📁 Terms and Conditions – Use of Private Health Insurance
Coverage with private insurance
Bariatrics Mexico collaborates with various private health insurance providers and offers administrative assistance to facilitate access to surgical procedures. The use of insurance is subject to the following conditions:
Required documentation
The patient must provide necessary documentation (policy number, authorization letter, official ID, etc.) in a timely manner, according to the hospital’s and/or insurer’s requirements.
Coverage applicability
Coverage will depend on:
-
The type of procedure (surgical, outpatient, scheduled, etc.)
-
The specific terms and exclusions of the policy
-
The insurer’s internal fee schedule
-
Agreements between the insurer and the hospital
Responsibility for uncovered expenses
If the approved insurance coverage does not fully cover the procedure cost, the patient agrees to pay the difference before hospital discharge.
This applies regardless of whether the request was managed by the patient, hospital, or medical team.
Personal reimbursements
If direct coverage or insurance approval is not used, the patient may opt to pay for the procedure directly and submit a reimbursement claim to their insurer. Bariatrics Mexico’s administrative team can assist with the required documentation.
Bank-issued insurance policies
Some bank-issued health insurance policies may have additional restrictions or unique processes for scheduled surgeries. In such cases, we will guide you on whether your policy can be applied, based on your insurer’s and hospital’s requirements.
